How to Truly Measure Your Backlink Building Success for Google

Google hides their secret. They don't tell you what backlinks you have that are important. So how can you tell if you're doing well or not?

Also, how fast should you be building backlinks? Is there a rule of thumb on how many backlinks to start with and what to get up to?

I don't measure my backlinks for Google since they de indexed some of my pages, then months later re index them. Same thing with PR, Google or other search engines are inconsistent, period.

The reasons could be that scrapers or spammers are going through the search engines filters.

To be honest, I don't waste my time with that anymore, and keep doing my work like usual.

Hi,

In my own experiences, back links appearing in the result page of "link:domain name" search on Google would usually be important in Google's eyes. Also, I don't think there would be a number limit on your daily back links if only you could increase them steadily.

all the best,

As far as I can see the most important backlinks are shown on the link: search
for your site in Google.
And about the limit of backlinks building , It depends on the size of your website. If you have
only 3-4 pages in your website but you get 1000s of backlinks in just few days that might be regarded as spam. Basically there is no limit but you should
build backlinks steadily if you build 200 backlinks one day and then
rest for weeks and again you build another 200 in one day that will be spam.

If it is your own website, then it is fine. What if you are doing SEO for someone else and you need to show results?

SEO results are shown on SERP, not on backlink importance.

No one knows the exact number of backlinks you can make for your website per day. But if you make your backlinks slowly, its safer.Making a lot of backlinks is easy but it may penalized your website, So its better to make backlinks slowly and from high quality websites to promote your website.

I get the feeling this is how Google intends it to be. Don't try to show up on the top... just work on high quality content and spread the word on forums, blogs, article sites, web directories, if you can, and let the popularity of your website naturally spread.

Yes this is true, I think. But I'm sure Google could consider someone on a forum who has a lot of post count change their signature... what about those who have 20,000 posts and change their signature link?!?

There are many tools available to check your backlinks but each tool will give 90% results and the rest vary with different links.
