Google Anti-Affiliate

What I've found disturbing is the recent talk that Google has people manually removing affiliate sites. Although a lot of Google fans say it's just to rid the internet of duplicate content, I think Google just wants to eliminate the competition of their ad program. If affiliate programs become worthless to affiliates then the only game in town becomes Google. Unfortunately, for Google though Yahoo and MSN are about to get into the act as well.

Well there are a lot of crappy sites out there, but people have got a right to make a living.
Supposedly, Google goes on link popularity so if a affiliate site is crap then wouldn't it be low on the Google search anyway without having to be manually removed? I mean who would link to a crappy site right.

Was that to do with me talking to Googleguy on Webmaster forum and he replying saying thanks for the spam list! Cheeky begger cos my affiliate shop was not spam

You see Google unfairly may have banned my entire site for a month until I moved the shop to another domain but its not spam despite having 60,000 pages http://www.futureposters.co.uk/Movie...sterstore.html

This will be an even bigger issue when all Affiliate sites start using RSS content feeds instead of Java Script. It may destroy Search Engines as we know it! Bold statement to make I know but give it 5 years and I will be able to say I told you so unless Google combats them!

My personal hatred on the web is searching for a product review and you get a price comparison website with no review. Its just another future thing that will destroy Search Engines without human editors. In the Trust Rank paper they admit all Search Engines have loads of human editing.

Sometimes it kind of like what comes first the chicken or the egg. For instance on my new webmaster site in the web host review section, I've got web host descriptions, and a link for a customer to put their review. The only problem is until they do put their reviews in all I have is my descriptions.
