Did re-optimizing matter

Just wanted some feed back on this. I Re-optimized and went from the abyss to #26, for a term I was in the top 10 on. Think re-opting got me there, or if I had left it alone (pre Florida)...could I still have been top ten?

I know no one really knows for ...but just was wanting some imput on it

Yeeeha Backlinks are back

I'm also back from the dead for simply changing the internal anchor text of my links. A quick swish of me magic wand - and were rockin again. I've notably now got 808 back links instead of my crappie 60.

What's weird thou is I'm only back up for one of money making key words. Hum very strange I used to rank a lot higher for all of them.

I'll tweak it some more, but I like atw too much to cock about too much to satisfy google.

I don't think I am back because I made changes, I'm more wondering if I would have been back higher...had I not made changes?

We redesigned our whole site after Google droped us and did not even try to get back in. Now we are back with more key words and almost the same results.

This week the search engine industry's descending on Chicago for a three day convention

Do you think Google could have let things settle just not to get blasted here and then when it is all over there going back to the way things where?

I think the only thing that is settled is that nothing is yet settled.

The SERPs have been in continuous motion - there's no way of telling whether any movement is due to specific changes or not.

Well, some sites i did something about, some i didn't. I lost a nr2 for a money keyord, and now I am back on a 3-5 above those in the top 10 before florida..

My targeted 3-4 keyword phrases are where they are as before florida, I think I am resurrecting, or google has acknowledged that there was something wrong...

Chek out this post http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=9739

It is updates from what Google had to say.

Here is some of it

Here's the interesting part. The Google tech representative said the company's brand sites were dropped because they were cross-linked to corporate sites, he thinks due to duplicate content -- to me, that's not satisfying.

In essence, Google didn't make the decisions based on the fact that they were clients. These cross-links between the brand and corp sites were bringing down the page rank of the brand sites. I'll be looking into this and trying to get more info as the session continues.

Meanwhile, the issue that's important here is that there is relationship between the sales and tech departments at Google.

I would be doubtful that Google is changing anything just because of a forthcoming SEO conference...!

This was one of the things brought up in the conference

Mike believes that Google hasn't used page rank at all for a long time -- instead, he believes they're moving towards a keyword-dependent hit-based algorithm. This would take longer because it records what sites are getting hits, but according to Mike, it would be a more relevant algorithm.

Would this be hits from anywhere?

I think that Google is creating smokescreens and has been the last few weeks, for what is very simply: a BUG.

If I were google, I would have done the same.

You may be right but I still think there are going to be changes made soon if they have not already been made
