Google groups? Any successful experience?

Hi,

Has anybody worked with Google groups? If anyone has, please send what groups. Maybe send your private group if you have one.

Any educational free links or your tips would help.

Want to start my own, can't get where to get started. I know that forum is a good community tool that helps to turn forum after 1-2 years of good work into a powerful community tool. Can Google groups work this way?

Well,

I've been testing this tool for last month and I can tell you it might work effectively if you have small number of subscribers.

Today I added 31 mails and ...

It gave up a note, that the operation is pending and Google will review this in 1-2 business days. Will tell you what happens

I am wondering, what is the maximum number of mails one can add one time or per day?

I didn't know there are email limits in Google groups. Seems sad from Internet marketing perspective.

Sorry, can't be of any help. Maybe anyone can clear out if Google groups have limits for any emails sent daily?..

Google said they will send the mails to the subscribers to confirm.

I do think that it does not make sence for me to use google groups unless you are starting from very ZERO.

If you have a big lis and you want to import it in Google group, the members will bave to reconfirm their subscription I think...

Google groups are not meant to be a "marketing tool" and using them as such is kind of abusing their free system for commercial purposes.

Jeezz, do those marketing sharks have to make everything into a marketing tool? Ever heard of 'ethics'? What about installing (free) mailing list software on your own domain eh?

BTW idea with free mailing list is very good. I have a mailing module in my Internet marketing tool. Can give it as a free bonus on the web site.
