It finally updated this morning and wow, I can't believe Google is giving this away for free. If this service stays free I will definitely be using this in addition to awstats for quite some time.

Yeah, it's temporarily unavailable due to high demand. Think about the poor folks who paid for Urchin on-demand and now google are giving it away for free.... UNLUCKY!

You will get more accurate results with this tool because you have to put the JS on the physical pages and so does not count other files such as frames, XML feeds (that has file extensions like .asp and .php and can be read thousands of times without a real user).
The only downside is that non JavaScript users are not counted but they are insignificant. These include all* Search Engine bots where in AWStats the bots have to be identified by the programmer.

Don't Google.com and Google.ca and Google.uk feed off the same database, anyhow? What difference does it make if these are combined?

I won't worry about it. Just think of the offer they present and I think if ever they get access to stats, sure Google can use it for profit but hey, I guess they would also do some nice features out of these data they access.
It's free, I like it so far and I am not forced to use it so why should I complain.

Can current members send out invitations similar to the Gmail service?
I see the invitation code option (xxxx-xxxxx-xxxx).
I applied a for a code a few days ago, hopefully will get a chance to test it out soon.

Analytics is pretty neat but there's a ton that it doesn't tell you. I started on something last week that I've stuck on all of my sites and I like it a lot better than analytics so far - and for me at least it's only going to get better. Attached are some screen shots of the service.
I need some people to test this out on, so if someone wants an invite, send me a PM with your guess of a number between 1 and 10.

The cool factor is off the charts but the statistics are different than my host's web package.
One day Sergey and Larry will be gone and Google will be scarier than any domestic spying the NSA does.

You can't compare stats among different stats packages, they just give different interpretation of data.

Just got the invitation. It took 2 weeks. I wonder if setting up an adsense account had anything to do with it. Looks nice.. lets see how it works.

I love it, it definitely takes some getting used to though and I believe I dont even use 5% of the features available.
I think there is TOO much information in GA

Just got sent an invitation code that I don't need anymore as I already have an account.
If you want the invite code to set up your own Google Analytics account, then PM me. First one gets it.
