Apparently Google bought out Urchin and is now giving away a similar service that Urchin used to charge an arm and a leg for. I find this hard to believer, but yeah I'm going to give it a try as well.

Its true. Urchin used to charge $495/month. Then google bought it, and sold the service for $199 month. Now its free. It makes perfect sense if you know anything about business. Give something to get something. Imagine the more info they get from this too.......they are the search experts.

You Smeghead... a ton of pages!? Simply add it to your header include file or if you don’t have a dynamic site you can do a find and replace an entire directory using Dreamweaver on closing header tag (back up your site before doing this for the first time).
...it also help's if you have shopping cart (shop) or registration is required (jobsite)

I've got a couple dynamic sites and several static ones, so it's still gonna take me some time The days before CMS must have been painful ones indeed.

I'll stick to the awstats and such in my cPanel, I don't use any ads or sell anything anyway... and Google asks way too much personal info for the use of that service.

Just remember that you will be giving Google complete and total access to you stats also. Well, if you use Adsense they have that anyway so probably won't do any harm...

There is tool called sitestudio (Name will change soon) http://projectcerbera.com/apps/sitestudio.html
...this great tool for non dynamic sites and has a find and replace for an entire site so coe changes are easy (if you have Dreamweaver you will not need it for this use). Its a little tricky to learn at first.

They never read the difference in dynamic URL's. Aslo the real power with Google's tool is you can track where your conversions/sales are coming from!

Looks like it's back up and running. Gotta love products that are in the beta stage. From the limited stats it's giving me it looks pretty freaking sweet. I can see why people were paying that hefty fee for urchin.

I am also thinking that as we are giving control to google by giving them the details of our website marketing and keywords reports. It seems that its more or less Google Spy Software for Webmaster to keep record of their Internet Marketing Strategies.
Anyway Keeping faith on Google Brand... I am giving it a try. I will share my review regarding the Google Analytical on same thread...Keep watching.

I set it up yesterday. I should start seeing stats later today. Looks good, though. Will it track where visitors leave your site via Adsense?

I just went live with it on one of my sites. Haven't had time to look at the data yet.
Just a heads up, the system within Google Analytics to check whether the code is properly installed isn't working. That one drove my crazy for a while...
