No. of pages indexed by Google

Didn't Google used to have the number of pages they have in their index on their home page footer?

I can't find this info now...

Have you tried the google sitemaps? there is a robots.txt editor/help info there. I didn't think removing it would work, might be worth making sure its correct though

I use google sitemaps and the sitemaps tool doesnt show any errors and detects the number of urls correctly. The robots.txt analyser doesnt show any errors either. I am using php and thought that it mught be due to session IDs and have removed them as well. Still no luck.

Removing robot.txt helped me out a lot for some reason way back. A friend of mine recommended I try it.
