I am thinking of Google Adword for my webhosting company, i am not sure is it a good idea or just waste of money and time.

What are your conversion rates?

If you have poor conversion rates, it would probably be a waste of money.

Increase your conversion rates, then do a test campaign.

Many people will blame PPC (Pay-Per Click) advertising for their lack of sales or success. Many shouldn't do this so flipantly with reputable companies like Google or Yahoo. They should blame their landing page

I used AdWords for like a week and a half on two of my sites, and it worked wonders.

You'll find web hosting related keywords in AdWords to be pretty competitive.

As others have mentioned make sure your comfortable with your sites/pages conversion. When you're happy with it, start a small AdWords campaign and the results closely . You'll be able to tell pretty quick what's working and what needs some work:-)
