Google Dancing

Has anyone else been experiencing their sites jumping around at the minute? One of my sites is relatively new, but its been jumping around after I've done a lot of link building. Wondering if anyone else is getting this even on their established sites.

The "Google Dance" ended quite some time ago:

Dancing is not that bad characteristics of an object - it shows that the object is in a good mood at least.

To be serious, trusted old websites rarely suffer from the GDancing and mines do not suffer currently, but the new ones are quite floating, indeed.

At the moment, I am seeing evidence of exceedingly poor synchronization between the various Data Centers, with results that are volatile to the point of being suggestive of database corruption; at the minimum, database replication is not occurring quickly enough across the entire constellation of servers.

Oddly, the Caffeine hardware platform upgrade was intended, among other things, to minimize this type of problem.

So, yes, there is currently a Google Dance under way; it's just not to the usual music.

For the record, the term "Google Dance" refers to transient systemic conditions that cause many movements of many items, just like a real dance, as opposed to someone dancing alone.

The main reason behind it, the work done by your competitor sites. Because at same time you work and your competitors work for same keywords, The crawler found when your work low than your competitor sites then your site go down and when your work is more than your competitor your site is up.

Please read the post directly above yours to learn what the "Google Dance" is.

As for the usual volatility of new sites, such happens even if all "competitors" do nothing, owing to the fact that all data across the web that is relevant and material to the site has yet to be fully discovered and indexed.

I feel, Google dance occur on new sites because there are new updates, sometimes increasing and decreasing and similarly the web traffic on these sites is variable in the start. Thus, when the search engine crawlers reads them, it changes the position of these sites more swiftly.

Traffic is immaterial to SERP rank.

Indexing of a resource proceeds at a pace independent of its age, or any other of its characteristics.

The variability observed for a newly indexed resource owes to the fact that all data across the web that are relevant and material to it have yet to be fully discovered and indexed.

Your site is still new so it's normal for it to experience the google dance. Just remember to build links slowly first and then increase the frequency as the site ages. Natural links, or consistency is what google favors. Don't post a thousand links one day and then take a vacation for two weeks, looks very unnatural in google's eyes.

Quite correct; the term "Google Dance," as properly used, has nothing to do with on-page factors, nothing to do with what data are and are not indexed.

Said Dance results solely from systemic causes with Google's systems themselves.

The most common, given that Google implements an average of roughly 1 such change per day, are alterations in the SERP algorithm. The other owes to temporary unusually poor synchronization of the data stores distributed across 40+ Data Centers, such that all do not yield the same search results.

All resources, regardless of their age, are potentially affected by the Google Dance.
