Anybody using the Google Desktop? Looking for reviews.

hmm looks good lol but i will not download anything that search engines make other than tool bars and i rerly keep them lol i just dont trust them as to me everything they make must be some aim towords research

Dude, I simply don't trust Google enough to download that. Specially not since I found out that Matt Cutts is a NSA agent. NSA is short for National Security Agency, a department that was kept secret for years and is the American equivalent of the Stazi in the former DDR and another CIA-like department, the dude is a sneak and snitch for profession.

Google sold out I guess.

It does what it's supposed to do very well. However, I got annoyed with it after a while, so don't run it at all any more.

The layout bothered me. Out of all the options, I liked the floating bar the best, and even that was annoying at times. On more than a few occasions, I would resize the floating Google Desktop bar, and it would change the view settings of my entire desktop so that Outlook and Dreamweaver didn't show right.

It's ok but nothing special. I uninstalled it after hardly using it.

99% complete with about 0,1 idle hours left.
215.186 items indexed so far.

search is soo fast, thumbnail for image & video near the result

but some cases the results is not good like a the search algo of the web version.

another question is that I dont know when it remove the deleted files from index.
