No back links, will my own sitemap help?
Hello,
My site has been up several months, it is indexed very well on google. But its PR is still 0.
I tried to get listed on dmoz and other directory sites, but no good so far. I really want to get some PR
Will my own site map help my PR? :

It certainly used to - but internal pages may have been devalued as part of the LocalRank screw being turned.
A site map in itself isn't really for pushing PR around - how you link your pages within the site is for doing that. However, what a sitemap can achieve is a good index of all your URLs, so that Google & co have access to them. This can be especially useful on dymanic links which are not otherwise followed.

Once you get into DMOZ and Google puts you in their directory, you will suddenly have a page rank. That has been my experience with new sites.
It takes forever this way.
It helps if you have other sites with a PR4 or greater that you can link from. Or get other sites to link to you.
At least this ONCE worked.
I dunno.

Dont bother DMOZ can be very slow. I am still waiting for my web design portfolio to be listed after 2 years!
Just get one your or friends website. On this website put a link at the bottom of as many pages as you can. (this site should have a PR of about 4-5 to be worth it)

DMOZ
My site was listed on DMOZ about 2 years ago and now I did a search and can not find my site listed anymore? Two months ago I submitted my website to try to get relisted, but haven't had any luck... Who knows when this might take place...
Thanks,
Craig

I'd submit once more next month in December. Sucks they took you out. Very odd.

Thank You

Would adding any of the google tools (adsense, analytics, sitemaps) etc to your site speed up the sandbox effect? I have seen my sites go from 0 (been up for about 3 years someo of them with no traffic) to 2 just by adding some of the google stuff onto them?
Also PPC (its not supposed to aid PR is it.... weel it definately had a big effect on my clients site PR 3 in 8 weeks?)
Des anyone else think google 'wait and see' what the site does ie do links grow organically or forced?
Before it starts adding PR points?

Hello d6D i haven't seen any signs that google sitemaps help the PR of a website. Personally i feel its just helps google find the pages of you site easier.
Same with Yahoo SiteExplorer

No not at all if you want to get a good PR then you must have lots of quality links which will give you PR not your sitemap, you should submit to other free and paid directories to build more quality links.

to get page rank you must find backlink for your site . it's not related with sitemap

Sitemaps are great to help build internal link relevance. Not to mention its just a good idea to use a sitemap to help your users find their way around your website faster.
