Google Backlinks Strategy

Hello Experts,

A doubt on my mind that on what basis Google give baclinks to any website or which one is that strategy? When I check back links upon Google it shows only seven but when I check it upon Yahoo, shows 195 what is it??

Can someone know about it?
Please give suggestions!!

Google just very high profile or quality backlinks so yahoo is best place to search about Backlinks.

this is due to the algorithm difference of search engines. Both are correct.
If you want a more comprehensive view of back links to your site then use Google webmaster tool, it will give you a fair idea of domains linking to your site or use can backlink watch.

I guess you backlinks were not quality backlinks. If those were then all of your backlinks should be visible.

So my suggestion is to make quality backlinks..........................

yes its a good suggestion
but it actually happens due to not been crawled by Google yet. i think. do some social bookmarking to get the process accelerated.

The best way to check backlinks from Google is to use the Google webmaster tool link section. (read here as well)

Both are according to their algo, Yea. They read whatever they r told to read. Some links are somtimes missed by Yahoo but Google catches them. simple

i'm not convinced its just quality links google includes - in-fact i know it missesd some for my site.
but for sure to get a good picture of what is happening we cannot rely on one search engine alone

Google's backlink which you get by searching link: site is not correct.
Yahoo site explorer is correct for checking backlinks.

Because Google does not take all backlinks as valid.This is the reason Google does not show all the backlinks.You can use backlinkwatch.com to check the backlinks.

Neither shows all your backlinks. Why? 'Cause neither wants to put all their cards on the table showing what they know about your site.

Yes, google is not the best place to check backlinks. I would use seosoftware to check this. This way you can check the link value, anchor text, etc.

Its all because of the difference in the way of crawling sites between Yahoo and Google. Also, there are many differences between those SEs.
Here, my suggestion is that if you are doing seo for Google then consider what the result of Google(Analytic) and some software. If you are aiming and working to get good SERP in Yahoo then consider Yahoo and pursue your task.
But, lbre said, you can use some best software that will display exact back links i think.

Google webmaster tools never show the accurate backlink count...
Check your backlinks using Yahoo! siteexplorer... results are pretty approximate.

yahoo site explorer gives the accurate number of backlinks for sure. i never trust google regarding that.

Yahoo gives a better, more thorough list of all of the websites linking. Google no longer gives us a full list because they don’t want people like us manipulating their search results, which is exactly what we’re able to do with this information.

I wouldn't get bogged down in tracking every backlink. Just rely on whatever tools you are using to track and pay more attention to the yahoo links.

Google doesn't count all backlinks. in default case, you can expect 5-10% links which is counted by Google as backlink.
