Another Google Theory
If you didnt want to me to link to another forum, just delete this. I did not want to copy and post it here because of possible copyright issues.

This is just another theory of MANY about what is going on with Google at the moment.

I found it interesting, but am not sure if I agree that it was the root of problem. Something to thing about though.

It is also very specualtive. As Phil said, it doesn't explain why Google is apparently using two diff algos - one for general terms, and a different one for specific ones.
