What Google did unique?

Larry Page and Sergy Brin are two guys who are know biggest threat for all already established rich pioneers like Microsoft and many others.....
Sometime i think what these uni guys did which was unique and special which was missed by big names like Vint Cerf and many others that now they are working for Google not Google.

IMO it was "pagerank" concept which was going to change the industry and thinking of people altogether.
What do you think ?

Google didn't have a billion ads like the other search engines, there for we used them, and they got rich quick!!! That's what's unique!!!

I think the quality of the search results and the speed they appeared on the screen were the reason google got so big so fast. Both of these factors were made possible by precompiled pagerank data.

Alright I'm bored so I'm writing a whole article on what Google did special:

First of all, everybody acknowledges it as a Search Engine, right? Well Yahoo! and MSN are also search engines also...What's the differences?

First of all Yahoo! and MSN are trying to brand all their other services as well on their main page of the Search Engine...Yahoo! has so many links that the design is just annoying. Same thing with MSN, people only want the Search Engine Box. Look at Google's main page, they have it so simple and search results will come quickly, in less than a few seconds!

Google has a better Search Engine indexing algorithm method than MSN and Yahoo! It's hard to do cheap Search Engine Methods on Google, rather than MSN or Yahoo!

Also Google concentrates most of it's workers on their Search Engine programs. Also Google offers lots of software revolving around making their Search Engine integrated with people's desktops (Like Google Toolbars and Desktop) and they make good useful software like Google Earth.

Finally, Google has stricter PPC Ads on the right (meaning they will actually go through your ad and make sure that it is of good quality before they let you put it in Sponsored Search Results..unlike Yahoo! or MSN...)

That's all I have to say, but I'm young so correct me if I'm wrong!

I read an article about the development of google where they pointed out that when other search engines were providing results like "Bill joke of the day" for a search on "Bill the president", google returned results like "Bill , the presidents office" etc. in test stages which were what searchers wanted when searching. This appropriate results got them the popularity and of course the simplicity of use played an important role.
( Page rank was a factor in providing these results)
Then adwords which was a new concept again and was pretty useful for advertisers than traditional advertising made google rich.

Simple makes perfect for the majority of people.

The fact quality content existed early on throughout the web is one thing. Google made that content available to the masses. That's why Google will continue to ride the lightning for years to come: they make people's lives easier.

When you three year old kid has a health issue, one of the first thing the modern family does is Google the "symptoms" and when they get more details from the local health clinic, they Google that information too.

The combination of quality information sources and blazingly fast (and usually reliable) search system makes perfect for most web users.
