Problem getting indexed

Hello everyone,

I own an eCommerce website and I have been having problems getting indexed into google. In march alone, the googlebot has done 147 hits, and I am still not indexed. A lot of my products have similar descriptions since the products are nearly identical. Could this be the problem? I have seen other websites that have nearly identical pages as well but are indexed in google. I'm not sure why it hasn't indexed my site though, even though googlebot is hitting most of my pages.

You may take a look at the page at http://www.bagaholics.com.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I can only find 3 mentions of your site in google. This means you need to build lots more links to your site.

Also from a quick look at the site you need to remove the session id's that are attached to every url and make sure that any links to the homepage point to www. bagaholics.com rather than bagaholics.com/index.php?main_page=index&zenid=10988c8336e4372e3f 1988e3f320034d

Thanks for your reply. I've submitted to the open directory so far, and I'm waiting to be listed. Shouldn't my website be indexed even if I don't have any links?

I'm going to look into a solution for removing session ID's from the URL. I use an open source shopping cart called Zen Cart.

I would say don't just rely on an open directory submission. Build some incoming links to your site which will make the indexing quicker than it normally does without links.

Change the title tag in your HTML, google has no idea what bagaholics is and until you have some good rep with that name it is invisible to the search bots.

<title>Bagaholics.com - Curing women since 1999</title>
<title>Handbags, Purses, Replica bags - Curing women since 1999</title>

Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it.

I have already began working on getting incoming links, I have about 3 now, and about 10 waiting to get a link from.

I will change the title tag to something more obvious.

Regards

Question Being visible

Google presents content based on the very precise keywords you type in your search.

What exact keywords are you typing where you'd like to be listed at the top?

You have to ask yourself if the results presented are more relevant than yours and if they are, well, Google is doing it's job. If they aren't relevant, then you need to work your SEO even harder!
