Do you have a speculation about when Google will update?
  • Do you think there has been a backlinks update?
  • Do you think there has been a PR update?
  • Are you seeing Google fluctuations?
  • Do you think there has been an algorithm update?

I'm hearing rumblings of a very recent but minor PR update - some new pages from as late as July 28th or so have toolbar PR while other pages are now N/A. Anyone else?

Wow this is unexpected. One got from 3>4 and one went from 3>2. I think the Pr looks more correct now. As the one went to 4 had good links as oppose to the other one. I was surprised that both got 3 as I though the first one should have been more.

Wow, now Google.com is from 9>10 again. Was that the reason for this quick pr update .

I do not know what this is all about because I expected 6 months for an update and then there are 2 in 2 months.

Question Page Rank of 2 (Recently Updated)

I just checked my page range tonight and realised it has gone up to 2 so I guess that means my back link building has been doing some good??? My site is only around 2 months old.

Am I right in thinking this is a good thing or is it normal for pages to get a PR of 2????

Angry Why google updates PR so frequently?

In past 1 month, my website's PR goes up and drop down for at least 3 times! Why google updates PR so frequently now? Any ideas?

Only Google knows its schedule for updating Page rank. However ,its better to worry about SERP and traffic rather than the green toolbar.

Google collect data to your backlinks organic traffic and determine rank.

Probably you know that Google Panda v.2 was performed. However recently was announced officially that current Panda algorithm update is v.2.3, that's why Google updated PR more often than usual.

I think Google must have received too many complaints from the users. Because when they did their first update... many websites that were good and genuine and deserved better PR... lost their pagerank. They might be updating it due to uneven distribution of PageRank.

Besides Larry Page and Bin Sergey, only higher officials at Google can tell you about this . Google keeps the date and schedule of Page Rank a secret. One thing , I would like to point out that in internal data base of Google, PR is updated almost daily but publicly it is done at certain intervals.

It should not be assumed that the fluctuations in the Toolbar PR display in any way reflect either changes in actual PR or true updates to Toolbar PR data.

Since the initiation of the rolling Panda SERP updates, which placed an unusually large addition load on Google's Data Centers, owing to the massive amounts of data that needed/still need to be reevaluated, all externally reported data are in a state of flux.

For example, there are a plethora of reports of Webmaster Tools data wildly changing from day to day, with IBL counts going from the ridiculously low/high one day to the equally ridiculous high/low the next, Internal Links vanishing and reappearing, etc., as well as Index/Home pages vanishing form/reappearing in the SERPs, stale and wrong cache data being displayed, etal..

In short, Google's distributed database - 40+ Data Centers worldwide - is currently FUBAR.

Until the Panda load is removed from their hardware base, and good database replication is restored, anything that Google displays should be taken with a very, very big grain of salt.

I haven't seen any changes for my blog or sites yet. I just hope this update continues with google's strive for quality.
