Help with the Google Search API

I'm working on a php script that makes calls to the Google Search API, and ever since the recent PR update, my results have been very flaky. I thought it might be my connection, but I'm also using Yahoo & Msn Search API, and they are running very quickly in comparison.

Is anyone else running into this problem? Any known solutions?

I'm not a developer myself, but there have definitely been reports of flakiness by the Google API of late.
