oh my god, I ought to smack you for writing the title as "Google Bans DMOZ", especially since I thought Google banned their own website, change your title and don't believe everything you hear. I ought to give you bad rep, but you joined around a week ago, so I will spare you from my wrath.
Submitting to DMOZ is not 100% going to get indexe. Firstly the biggest problem is for them to ACCEPT your site, which they rarely do unless your PR5 or PR6 I think. DMOZ also doesn't gaurantee your inclusion in Google, it just gives you a link to your site, which Google picks up. However, they are a little bit powerful since it's an open directory working with Google.
