Power of Anchor Text
http://www.google.com/search?q=Webmster+Forum
The misspelling "webmster forum" was used as link text from Xaraya. It was the only site to link to WebmasterForum.net using that anchor text.
Do a search, and WF is #1 - not the page where those words appear; but the page they link to using those words.
Some people have been suggesting that Google is acting to put more weight on page-elements as opposed to anchor text. I don't see this happening.

No, anchor text definitely seems to be key from what I have seen and this is classic eg.

Having learnt a lot about the importance of anchor text from this forum I have been updating links between my sites. I just want to check here... I assume that links within a site are also important? Will it make a difference if I go through my site changing the link anchor text from "click here" and "see this page" to things like "see our page on banana splits".
I just want to make sure it's worth it because in some cases the wording isn't exactly how I'd like it but I'm happy to make the compromise if the anchor text is going to benefit me.

It's slightly interesting to me how well Xaraya is doing with the SEO side compared to other packages out there. We have a ways to go before we have it down pat, but there are a few places the xaraya.com ranks high where we have no real business being in the top 1000 (macromedia plug-ins, etc.).

Yes it will. Not only the associated page will benefit (put banana splits in the title and content), but also the page the link is on !

I am interested in one search term people usually write wrong. I saw in wordtrack than 1 of 10 times the search is not correct. What do you think about the optimization for mispelling? I think is no difficult for this case but... i am not sure about do it or not.

Go for it !
An extra link on your page with the spelling error, to a page with the spelling error in the title...duplicate the content from the right spelled
page to this page...
1 out of 10, why not...

Ok. I'll try it. Maybe an extra-page where the correct term is explained,
with title and anchor text to that page of this form "Temr, Trem or Term?".
I think it can gives good results. Thanks.

It's definitely effective. There are 2 types of mis-spellings to look at targetting.
One is the typo:- I get traffic for "hewlett pachard" (should be "packard") because I did a genuine typo myself on a page.
The other is people's poor spelling. E.g. does the word "accommodation" have one "c" or two, and does it have one "m" or two? A lot of people think it only has one "m".
So definitely look to target typos and poor spelling. You only need to put them on a page once, or maybe twice, to be successful for them.

I am dyslexic my self and use allot of my old mistakes in the title by accident when I first started to get traffic a good trick was "cinama" instead of cinema!
But I have stopped it now cos it decreases the quality of the site.
