Needing Help

I changed the design of my web site and it is changed in the Google cached the same day when I change the text it changes with in one or two days but for the last week none of the other pages have changed.

They are still showing the old design. The new design is only a week old but why is it not showing up in the cached on Google.

I used java in the nav. but I used a site map link on the page and was thinking Google would crawl the rest of the site from the site map.

What did I do wrong?

So there is nothing to worry about?

I guess I will leave it alone then but it does bother me that they did not change those pages.

It sounds like the index page is being tagged for fresh content, in which case it's probably just a case of waiting for Google to catch up and index the rest.

Not sure on why you would want to use a javascripted nav bar - if Google stumbles with that then it's really going to mess with your PR distribution, and stop you focussing it towards single pages. A sitemap is a good idea - but in PR terms it means you're promoting your lowliest and most important pages on an equal footing - presuming Google has problems with the nav.

Hi I, Brian and Thanks,

Yes I had told the guys here not to do that but they only hear what they want.

Since they have gotten on some big projects and we are trying to get everything caught up for the first of the year.

But I plane to get it fixed asap but need to work around it until that happenes.

Thanks so much

If you want a work around I'm sure I've seen suggestions for using javascript links successfully - I just can't seem to find them at the moment.

If nothing else, you could resort to the <noscript> tag so that the links can be seen by the spiders.
