So if you generate enough traffic you can encourage your visitors to click ads?

I was in the middle of buying some books from Amazon and I noticed the sponsors listing... so I begin wondering why Amazon would send people away from their site to buy books. So I clicked the What is this link and this is what popped up:

Quote:
Sponsored Links are advertisements that Amazon.com provides to you. We receive Sponsored Links from Google's AdWords service. When you click on a Sponsored Link, we get revenue. The selection of Sponsored Links that are displayed is based on keywords. For example, if you search for "Bruce Springsteen" or view pages about Bruce Springsteen, the Sponsored Links may point to sites that sell tickets to his concerts or provide information about him. Sponsored Links are always clearly labeled.

Generating additional revenue from Sponsored Links allows us to offer lower prices to you--something we are dedicated to doing every way we can.
Is this not encouraging your users to click ads or what?

Thats the key phrase, pretty smart in my opinion.
It doesnt encourage me to click because i know all about it already but for normal web user who sees that and wants to buy their items at a lower price, perhaps there is a kind of chemistry in their heads that tells them to click more often on ads!

You can bet that would have been cleared by Google and to answer the question posed in the title of this thread....Absolutely

There are a lot of things Premium publishers are allowed to do that would get anyone else banned. Don't think its hurting Google any:
