I like Google a lot but I also think that Microsoft will soon catch up, they got some great plans with the Live Concept.

Just curious, does that happen to be your forum?

Microsoft pages all seem to be crammed with suff and links, including advertisments.
Unless that changed within the last day, I found it very hard to read articles.

Perhaps just a coincidence, but I noticed that the same user name has posted similar notes all over the net, always pointing to the same forum.
That's the only reason I asked.

They forget that what made Google so popular is good results with simplicity. They're Live stuff is all javascript-based and doesn't work in every browser. Their current index is full of spam. They think they'll gain customers with fancy features. But all people really want is to find what they're looking for. I'm positive Live will be a failure, or very moderate success at best.

Live will get very popular with Vista, in my opinion Microsoft is already dealing with strategies for Vista and left everything else behind them. The ordinary PC User will use what Vista tells him to use..

I just read the full article and I'm positive that Amazon did not switch because the search results are better from Live. It's a business deal with advertising involved. This isn't a switch in technology as much as a business plan shift.

While I'm posting on this board, I'll add that I've found Google to be easily superior to the others as far as research is concerned. Recently, however (over the past few days) I'm getting a lot of results on Google that don't match my search criteria. I'm hoping its a temporary phenomenon cause otherwise I might need to become more familiar with other search engines.

I use Google, Yahoo and MSN. All depends if I find what I am looking for within the first few pages.
