Using video sitemaps is a recommended way to give us information about your videos. Submitting a sitemap pushes your video metadata to Google and reduces the time it takes for us to discover your video. Learn more about video sitemaps here: http://www.google.com/support/webmas...y?answer=80472

Notifying Google of Video Updates

Quote:
If you are using an on-page markup such as schema.org, Google will update video data when the page is crawled. If you are using a video sitemap or mRSS feed, Google will periodically re-download the sitemap or feed from your site.

Testing and submitting videos is easy with both on page markups like schema.org and and video sitemaps or mRSS feeds. Use the rich snippets testing tool (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets) for on page markups and Google Webmaster Tools (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools) for sitemaps and feeds.

Alternate Markups for Videos

Quote:
While we recommend that you use the schema.org markup and the video sitemaps specification to provide video metadata to Google, we do support Facebook share, opengraph, and Yahoo searchmonkey RDFa markups, in addition to media RSS feeds, including the Bing mRSS specification. Read more about these alternative on page markups at http://www.google.com/support/webmas...?answer=162163 and about mRSS at http://www.google.com/support/webmas...?answer=183265.

Schema.org for Videos

Quote:
The schema.org markup is our recommended method for providing Google with the metadata needed to index your videos. Using it requires only a few non-visible changes to your video web page. You can find the full schema.org spec here: http://www.schema.org/VideoObject
