Google just started displaying preview?

Is it just me, or did Google JUST start doing this?

I'm seeing a preview of the page sized at about 50% on the right side of the search pane.

Wonder how the "look" of your page is going to affect traffic.

No not new.

Instant Previews

It highlights what you searched for on the page also.

Thanks for the info. I feel dumb now, LOL.

But seriously, I don't think it was showing up for me before. My page layout for Google looks a bit different too. I noticed some changes several days ago that actually gave me trouble conducting searches for a day or so. (It was like Google was doing some weird redirect in the midst of searching.)

Maybe it's a matter of my browser or windows being updated. Or maybe I just seriously never noticed it before.

Thanks for the info though.

I think that it is a good thing. Once people get used to it, they will get an idea of the layout of a site before going to it. They will know it is nothing more than an estore selling them something, or something with the information that they are after. Will it make a huge difference is yet to be seen.

Well for me ... the site I'm most wanting to promote right now has as it's main page a blog. It doesn't compare well visually (IMO) against regular web pages (which are my main competition in the SERPs). So .... maybe I need to work on getting the results to give preference to my pages instead of posts. But my site needs a lot of work and content to be written, that's going to take a while before I can focus on it.

It may mean I need to make a better looking template though. My current one is ok, but I only spent about half a day putting together the visual part of it. Wasn't my highest priority in getting launched.

For the past few months, i'm linking to some of my blog pages, categories and previous written blog posts. Trying to get the internal linking going a few times a month.

Also I check out my stat's and if a few pages or blog posts seem to be read a lot, i'll try to squeeze a link to the page or blog post in a few blog posts throught the month.

Thanks, the second I can easily do right now (it's a time-sensitive thing).

I just wish I could devote all my time to that one site, instead of still needing to spread it over so many. But some of the other ones are the ones that make money, so I have to keep them going for now.

Ah, well, yeah, that's the problem.

I guess it's kind of like having a real job and a hobby. It's not like you can leave off work to play golf just cuz you want to.

I just need more hours in the day. Then again, who doesn't?

I once called out of work to play golf before. lol

With having 1 blog to worry about, i could actually write a few blog posts and schedule them on different dates. Then i could take a little vacation and pop-in for the blog comments once and awhile.

I'm trying to do more scheduled ones. I have something like 7 or 8 sites I'm trying to juggle, and I have JUST ABOUT got them active enough. I have a couple of scheduled posts "out there" but I wish I could get further ahead. Meanwhile "my" site is slipping ... sigh.

But sounds like you have a plan. Just plug in a few and off you go, LOL.
