This is what i have found while i am going through google webmaster website, and i feel that i need to share this with you guys. go through:

It's so true, by hiring a good SEO you can increase your business and brand in quick time. On the other hand you can waste your money and time by hiring any fraud or inexperienced SEO.

It's just funny that I stumbled upon a thread somewhere about Google banning SEO. And now I see here a guideline by Google, that's cool. But, thanks for the share though.

This isn't new, I thought I'd seen it before and right at the end it says updated 03/15/12, I believe it was there before then and as "updated" suggests has been tweaked.
But either way, I guess it would be useful for someone who was thinking about paying for SEO and wasn't sure what to be looking for. But having said that, I wonder if anyone with a limited knowledge would even find this article.

Google has warned webmasters here because good quality SEO can improve your ranking & bad quality SEO can ruin your reputation & ranking completely.

It is recommend to hire a SEO expert for your business but owner should also educate SEO for him self. There are many good and bad SEO providers out there so you should know what are there capabilities before hiring them.

I did. It does not recommend that an an SEO expert be hired, it gives advice on what to look for if someone does decide to hire one.

You must be aware of all Google's Guidelines while you are going to optimize your website yourself. If you do not know then do not try to do it. It may harm your website. If you are unable to do it in right manner.

Google has changed the rules for on-site SEO and made its googlebot more smarter. Don't put the keywords more than once in strong tag and do not put list of keywords in footer. Try to maintain a keyword density of 2-3%

From reading this about Google, it sounds as though they WANT you to do well in SEO. There were a lot of things about SEO companies that I didn't know about! That was a good find!

SEO can give you long term benefits to your site as well as spam your site. It depends on how you do SEO for your site. Build quality backlinks to your site. Do not go for investing and demanding very quick result by SEO. it will damage your site.

I don't think Google minds if your using SEO to optimize your own website. I think what gets them is all the useless junk spun articles and spam blog comments that get spammed all over the net for backlinks.
