Anyone else experiencing this ? really strange

I checked my site this morning for keywords that i was on first positions for local competition
and all my rankings gone out of 8 keywords only 2 of them is still in top 100 although not ones that were on top but other parts of my site


i checked results for those keywords manually

all sites that were in first 10 results are gone for each keyword
totally new sites are there unrelated ones
mostly forum topics where keyword is mentioned like once or so

is anyone else experiencing this issue ?

Yes, I have also faced same problem many times. But after few days I gets my keywords ranking back same position. So worries should but for some time. Thanks

I think you should wait for at least 24 hours, your keywords would back on top page. Actually same issue also happened with me about a week ago but I regained my position after 24 hours.

YA but seems its not only me that is happening today
i see couple threads with people experiencing simmilar things today
anyway will wait till tomorrow and see what is going on

p.s. at first i thought is over optimization penalty
and i rechecked keyword density on site its bellow 15%
so i doubt its that

I did notice my site bounce from 4 to 2 recently, but it is stable at 4 again on page one. Not sure what happened, perhaps a different browser on a different IP address. However, my Bing, AOL and Yahoo rankings have all gone up.

It's also this week that our site encountered major serps changes, very far from the usual activity.

This is happening on a big scale and has got countless people worried.

My advice would be not to panic, sit back and just let things play out with Google as let's face it, there's nothing you can do about it anyway until we know what exactly what they are up to.

It's the over optimization affect hitting...Google said they were going to roll it out in a week or tow...that was two weeks ago. I've seem quite a few sites that have been hit and after looking at them it's not hard to see the over optimization.
Ya know those cheap SEO services you purchased...Well now your going to pay for it.

Not sure I fully agree with the comment about being penalized for the cheap seo services, sundancerz.

If that were the case, people could just go out and purchase lots of cheap/bad links for their competitors and sit back whilst Google sinks them. If this were the case, all the companies with BIG BUDGETS would be sinking all the smaller setups.

There is a little more to it than that.

At the end of the day, we must remember that Google is a business first and foremost and anything like this happens only serves to profit them as more and more people panic and purchase adwords, whilst they try to figure out what to do next.

Cheap meaning not very good....not cheap as in price. And I didn't mention cheap or bad links anywhere...besides thats not what the over optimized rhythm is even about...I think your speaking about the past panda affects. I agree Google is out for the money which pretty much takes center stage.

When things go sideways, it could be sites linking to yours losing power, new Google algorithm, or on site optimization.

If you do everything right and you are following the Google guidelines, just keep going your work, because engineers may run some tests.

just quick update "shailender" was right everything came back to normal today

but i still wanna figure out what happened
it wasn't dance as there was not much linking happening this week,not panda update as it wouldn't came back if it was
but no actual idea what might it be

lol...That comment wasn't directed directly at you..it was for anyone who don't do their homework and hire people/companies for SEO and some of these people they hire don't care what might happen to you down the road...they will do pretty much anything to show you better results, get paid and do it to someone else...I think were about to find out who those people are...ya know with these latest updates.

Could this blip your seeing (site coming back) just another google database that hasn't updated yet?
Could it be a nice little warning about whats going to happen?

It is more like your sites are affected by the recent change on Google's algorithm. I think the only way to go back is to make a change on the sites. Though, I don't know what you need to change.

And what were seeing could be a signal...like this thread. I've not seen any fluctuation on any of my sites which makes me believe it could be a message that says your close..were analyzing you. I'm curious to see what happens to these site that were hit with a that type of Google Dance which hasn't been seen for years. Guess we just wait n see.

Yes some times it happens like this. However, you need to worry for this. Your keywords will come back to the right position after one day or two days. This happens for my website also.. since we do seo for our website, site keeps moving and it wont stay at constant.

Yes this is becoming common now, because Google updates are going on and it had changed keyword ranking of website. Top website are thrown out and new unrelated websites are ranked. Strange but it is happening.
