Every company have their period of rise, stagnation and eventual downfall. Google is no exception, rivals with new and better technologies will eventually come.

After a week of Google update, I noticed Bing's serps changing. It seemed to go in sync with Penguine. My research then led me to this page http://searchengineland.com/google-b...-results-62914
Quote:
Google’s test suggests that when Bing has many of the traditional signals, as is likely for popular search topics, it relies mostly on those. But in cases where Bing has fewer trustworthy signals, such as “long tail” searches that bring up fewer matches, then Bing might lean more on how Google ranks pages for those searches.
I switched to DuckDuckGo. It is the best search engine for finding contents since it has some kind of deep hatred towards e-commerce sites...and spams. One of its pages is dedicated to a protest against Google and Bing. It gives ample evidence that those two manipulate serps. You will find it here http://dontbubble.us/

No offence and I am not defending Google however
You may argue about the Google way to fighting spam but if we not stop playing with its quality guidelines and algorithms Google launch more and more updates because its ultimate Goal is to give what user want.
I agreed that this Penguin update have many flaws and I am 100% sure they are doing something to roll out penguin 1.2 or 2.0 something to cover this problem.
User does not care about any update they only want a useful content that they are searching so Google hit with more power in future.
You shift your Search Engine but more than 60% user still search on Google.

Anything that is evil will meet its natural death .. and so will Google. I have also changed my default search engine to Bing now .. I hope Microsoft takes this opportunity to make bing better and introduce a strong alternative to adsense.

I have read many of the posts with great interest. Up until now I have thought that Google is the only show in town but from these posts it would appear that many marketers are migrating to Bing.

As my Internet marketing career is still in its infancy I would be most pleased to receive any observations and advice as to which search engine I should focus upon for a new online business. Many thanks

This is not true... many companies dont fall and many have been around forever and are still killing it. In the case of the internet many people dont even type google. They just go straight to the search in their Firefox, Mobile device or google Chrome and walla they are using Googles search.Google is powerful and are not going anywhere so get used to it.

There is going to be a time for each company...maybe a century...maybe more but always there is a time. Maybe not bankrupt or nonexistent but maybe decline.

2 days ago, after no algo update (the penguin update even took us to the top) we were outranked by a backdoor page, YES! a backdoor page. Title, description any other meta is just keyword stuffing and the site? IT'S AN IFRAME! that just points to another Website that isn't ranked at all! How is that possible?

Google just sucks lately. They are focused on social now and trying to get the users stay in their site, but they are a search engine, people don't want to go to google to search, find and then turn off their computers! at least not me. Bing seems much more accurate now. We are ranked 2nd for our main keyword and changing 2 - 3 - 2 but with legit sites above us. That backdoor isn't even there, so it is clearly a Google glitch.

Tested duckduckgo.com too, much better, no personalized search no social, just plain and simple search.

I really don't care if my sister's friend liked a page when I search for something for me!

I officially hate google now.

There's an algo update yesterday. My traffic increased, but my search rankings is still the same. I don't know if this is some analytic trick.

So you ar saying that they dont fall? or they half fall? Maybe they trip? and maybe they don't?

And for the quote below, I must say very impressive list. Can you also get the other list? the One with Apple, Microsoft, our government all the banks, and a bunch of other companies that have been around since the beginning of this countries existence.

Now im not saying that most dont fall. Most eventually do. What i am saying is some monsters never do. Just look at Wal-Mart or AT&T they are not going anywhere.

The difference between Google and all the companies above is Google expanded and spread their eggs around the world, instead of one basket. Google is successful from more then just its search engine nowadays.

Apple founded - 1976 - Not even 50 years old
Wal-Mart founded 1962 - a bit older
AT&T Reorganized 2005 - very new (AT&T was broken up by the government probably before you were born!)
Microsoft - 1975 - slightly older than Apple

Bank of America HAS not been around forever - though the original bank was founded in 1905, it was a failing bank in California before Nationsbank bought it.

Do you really think the government was founded in 1905? or 1976?

I know you're young but did you ever study history?

Apple is one of the first computers out. It reinvented our world. All these assumptions of empires falling is in our history. However we cannot predict the future. We do know what the world has in store for the computer age. Oh and if you are a history major stick to the past. I try to stay present and realistic.

oh and...
look at these guys?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smiling_Hill_Farm

Or these Guys?
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...870230,00.html

They have little to no power in comparison to Google. Google can buy all of them out with a flick of a finger.

We are in a computer/networking age! not a "look Bam Bam found land!"

For the record. I am a high school drop out I dont need school I have Google.

Google is an advertising agency. Their search engines are their money makers.

The Android OS is being whooped by IOS.

Chrome is doing well, but does the same stuff as FF.

G-goggles... lets not get started.

Bing was released in June 2009, below are the stats from then until now compared to Google:

It looks as if Bing has only taken searchers away from 'other search engines', rather than Google to Bing.

I'll try Bing out for a week, if I notice any personal bonus I will switch.
