Reciprocal links make sense as long as it is relevant to both parties. But buying links to reciprocate both parties' needs is a BIG NO-NO.

There is no doubt in that buying links for your website is totally unnatural and Google also considers natural links.

3 way works fine for me, I usually just exchange articles with my link in it (not a "link" page) with one site and for exchange I link to his site from my second site. But definitely you should mix it with other link types and never reciprocal.

Yes it do, terms Reciprocal links, Link Exchange or Buy Links from sources are actually not considered these days.

And as the Penguin update happened all such techniques harm you with rankings or more.

Linkexchange for me is not as effective as it was before... That was during before the Panda and Penguin updates...

because in link exchange it is one way of manipulating link because sometimes your linkexchange partner is deleting your link from their links page or if not putting some nofollow attribute. Logic isn't it? Manipulating for their own sake.

Because I believe in Google's guideline that:
Quote:
Excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging (”Link to me and I’ll link to you.”)
So I say not to Linkexchange and that's the bottom line...

I've never been a supporter of reciprocal links, so I don't think it was even a good idea before the penguin update. Its much better to get one way links to your site.

If you do have to get reciprocal links just make sure the websites are related or in the same niche at least

Reciprocal link harm the site. plz avoid the link. one way link and three way link is beneficial for site. you can get backlink from forum posting, blog commenting, social bookmarking also.
