Do you have a speculation about when Google will update?
  • Do you think there has been a backlinks update?
  • Do you think there has been a PR update?
  • Are you seeing Google fluctuations?
  • Do you think there has been an algorithm update?

I saw a huge increase in one of my sites rankings. It jumped from #151 to #45. Anyone else seeing some SERP changes?

New algorithm update from Google?

I think Google has rolled out any major algo update in last couple of days. Most of my US projects got affected negatively. I have always followed white hat guidelines, even when the SEOs were in chaos I survived both Penguin and Panda updates but this time the result is worst - keywords position gone down heavily. Did anything similar happen with you?

@indybail - No such notification found at Webmaster acc. message panel. Almost all of my US clients got affected. It's the worst down fall I have ever seen in my career. Now the keywords position are like 3-4 months back. I dont know what happened and how long it's going to take to at least restore the positions.

Before reading this thread I had no idea about recent google update….and I have a new site (submitted to google last month)…and I had some serious index-deindex-reindex problem because I added “www” and had some serious redirecting issues.

Day before yesterday and yesterday I found some serious SERP changes…all positive (some from #80-90 to #20-30) and I though it’s google dance…but now it seems because of the Google Update my SERP changed…and hope it’s not Google Dance…lol…

It's good to know that you're on the safe zone. Google always love new websites and rank them high on it's result pages for a certain period (which is termed as Google honeymoon effect). Make all your effort to retain that position and improve further. Wish you success.

I guess this could be due to the fact that Google has discounted the spam backlinks and the websites position rolled back to their previous stage and again they need to create fresh and quality backlinks.

Google has no good way of identifying "spam" links, and is just trying yet another way to fix that which is permanently broken.

The only good way out of the swamp that Google's gotten itself lost in would be to kill PageRank and focus on the semantic relationship between the sources and targets of links.

maybe google dance have something to do with this, i have a website , only white hat , i was no 3 , and last week dropped to no 9 , without doing nothing wrong. The only stuff i did was press release , and a href from different kewords, and from the url etc, to not over optimize it
So my only "fault" i think is that the website is kinda new

No data collection system can possibly know of everthing in real time. Thus, what an SE knows about is always an imperfect and incomplete view of the past.

Therefore, you cannot attribute any observed results to recent actions on either your part or those of others sites' owners/operators.
