Average Position HELP!!

Hey Friends,
What does the "Average Position" mean in Google Webmaster Tools? I saw the average position for a keyword to be "1.9" what does that mean?

The way I have been taking that is that you site is the 2nd result for that keyword on average for all people - taking into consideration that it will be higher or lower depending on circumstances.

YOU may see it come up 10th while someone in India may see it come up first.. but out of everyone, the average is the number in that column.

Check out the 'with change' button to see how its doing compared to the previous 30 days.

Just as it says. It is the average SERP position in googles results to users over the time period for the report. Sometimes it may be 5th, sometimes 1st, sometimes 10th. They takes all the impressions and calculates where it normally falls. Higher number is better, of course.
