Long time listener, first time writer
I have been optimizing and backlinking and promoting my site but it seems like all me actions are in vain.
I have launched my website more that a year ago and it appeared in google almost instantaneously. I mean only the first page.
Since that I have been doing backlinking and implemented some seo optimization, as the site is mostly dinamically generated all php pages are rewriten into html.
Yahoo shows 1500 backlinks, Google shows 2
Pagerank of the main page is 3, Splash page 2
Site:mysite.com command shows 700 pages that mostly point to subdomain that was removed from the site half a year ago. I tried to remove the subdomain manually using google's url removal tool months ago. I received confirmations that it will be removed soon but there hasn't been a single change. The url results in 404 error and is restircted from robots.txt
Some of the pages that are showing in site:mysite.com are even restricted from .htaccess
That has been going on for months, It seems like google just ignores anything related to the website.
I have sumbitted the sitemap. I have about 3000 pages that don't get updated frequently. I am using a splash page with some keyword reach text as the main site is not content driven. Some of the pages might be viewed as having dupe content.
These might be the reasons why i am having problems but I compared to my keyword competitors and there is not much difference.
So the only conclusion is that there is something fundamentally wrong with the site.
