Can some IBL's hurt my website?
Can google penalize my site for some inbound links? For example from sites with low TrustRank? By the way can anyone explain me what it is and how it can be calculated?

I've seen sites dropped for having IBL from only crap sites. It's called Google bowling.

That is the key. If your only source of links are "crap" sites they won't help much.
I've been "bowling" the crap out of a site for about 2 months that already has a high % of quality, authoritative links pointing to it. My bowling efforts (200,000+ links) don't seem to have impacted the site in a negative way - it's actually moved up in ranking 3 - 4 spots in the past 5 weeks. It didn't move at all for the first 3.

Theoretically. But if you have quality linkage, Google bowling can't hurt ya.

You can be penalized if you are linking to websites that do tricks that are illegal and against the webmaster guidelines. You will not be penalized for inbound links.

don't really see how an IBLs can hurt you. they might not place as much weight if the site is not as quality. Remember anyone can make an IBL to any site. so if IBLs could hurt you, then everyone would just me making links on crappy sites to their competitors.
however, if you are a real estate site, and all your links come from casino, bingo, gambling, adult, pill, etc. like JS said, you could be dropped.

I've seen PR8's drop to PR0. You must have Google mistaken with an All-Knowing God. Google isn't God, and they can and do drop sites for crappy inbound links, and other things.

200,000 links in 2 months? I have like 150 in about 3 months. How is that number achieveable by a person in a short period of time by decent links? Is it all directories? Even then I submitted mine by hand. Is there some other way to get those massive numbers?

You can't. He was testing the Google bowling theory, so I suspect they were anything but quality links.
