the newest PR update

So this is what i don't understand. on my domains that have been around for a while, i see PR updates on pages that previously had no PR.

for example:
www.mysite.com had PR 5 for a long time

www.mysite.com/articles <----- new page now has PR.

however i have many new sites that received nothing! they are fully indexed by Google. take this site for example.

yahoo shows this as its back links

its not a lot, but shouldn't it have earned some sort of PR, it does have links a PR five pages. even if its just a PR 1??

With what's going at google now, it would be difficult to comment on this.
It's quite possible that the PR update was not complete and it was stopped in between for some reason... We already know that there's an indexing problem going on.

One of tghe theories out there is that the Google PR feature has become so publicized that too many people are manipulating it. So Google may have changed it's algorythms to keep things fair. i don't knwo how else you might explained these jumps in PR.

I don't think the PR update is an instaneous thing and I expect some things to still be changing.

I created a site for a client who I know has done no marketing for his site. He has 2 backlinks, one being from my site and yet at the moment shares the same PR as my site which has quite a few more backlinks.

I would expect that to change at some point, mostly from his site's PR falling back to something more reasonble. it obviously doesn't make sense that they would be the same.

Of course maybe the whole idea behind the update was to make things so out of whack that people everywhere come to realize what many webmasters and seo experts already know. That toolbar PR is pretty much useless as a measure of anything.

except my confidence in my link building! just need something to show me i am doing it right! that's really one of the few measures i have besides SERPs, which i do not seem to be doing that well in.
