Am I being penalized?

Hi Guys, i'm a little concerned that I might be penalized. I just updated my site 5th january 2004 and changed a few page names that were already indexed by google - as expected these pages are now PR0 and i'm waiting on google to re-index the site, however I noticed in the logs Mediapartners-Google/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) and Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html) came this month but the pages I changed are still PR0, am I being penalized.

Your sig sites are showing fine for PR - if the pages aren't showing PR then it's just a toolbar issue.

I thought so too, but when I checked with another computer I got the same result. I'm wondering if the updates are a little slow in coming the old pages still show PR's as well as the other pages but the three pages that had their names changed are PR0. I have not removed the old pages from my directory, they have the same content as the new ones (all links to them have been removed though), just different names and minor design changes, could this be a factor in the PR0 for those pages as well? Check this and tell what you see.

Well, basically, the pages are entirely new to Google. So you'll have to wait for them to be deep-crawled now for them to appear on the index.

That can be anytime - it depends entirely on how often your site is crawled. Even then, you'll have to wait for the next update beofer you see PR publicly assigned.

It's the waiting that's driving me crazy I did some more optimizations and i'm anxious to see the results, in the meantime this gives me an opportunity to grab some decent links before the next updates.

Crazy? It's only been just over a week!! You should have seen it last year when Google first stopped the Monthly Google Dance - we were waiting a couple of months for an update!!!
