Links look in the status bar

Hello!

I can't find out why when I place my cursor on a link on my work PC (Win2K, IE6) there's the actual link showing in the status bar and on my home PC (Win2K, IE6) there's a descrition saying something like "Shortcut to index.php on website.com" and not stating if it's in any subdirectory.

I like when the link is showing, do you know how to set that back on my home PC :

Thanks in advance for your help.
Joanie

I think (don't quote me on this) that it may be JavaScript, but I just get the link on my statusbar, and on my sites I edit what that says using JavaScript, so could that be a possible cause?

I don't think it's the javascript, the links I tried were both html and javascript, there is no difference on my home PC there's always the shortcut text in the status bar. I really don't like this and would prefer to see the full link in it.

Anyone has a solution?

Thanks,
Joanie

I don't use Win2000 but an option like that might be found like this:

On the top menu on IE6 click the Tools option, and then choose Internet Options at the bottom of the expanded menu. In the dialog box that pops up click the Advanced tab. Somewhere in that list should contain the option to turn this feature on or off.

I hope this helps.

I tried that already, but couldn' find an option related to this problem.

Could it be the Win2K service pack? I have SP4 at home and SP3 at work.

Well, sorry, after looking some more and trying different options, I finally found out which one it is.

So for those who would have the same problem. It's actually in the Advanced internet options. The box to untick is called Show friendly URLs.

Thanks for making me looking and trying harder
