Do you have a speculation about when Google will update?
  • Do you think there has been a backlinks update?
  • Do you think there has been a PR update?
  • Are you seeing Google fluctuations?
  • Do you think there has been an algorithm update?

No matter how many of us start protesting why my site goes down and why the other guy's site goes up, Google is the judge... and the verdict.

Now some people will ask if Google is fair in ranking sites or it has special preference to certain sites beyond its SERP rules; I don't know. It's hard to tell.

what they want to achieve is reducing spam site getting ranked in google.
what they caused in even more spam sites being created and spammed google result.

IMHO, google lose the spam war and the recent google update is just a failure.
There is no point to protest. We have been contacting them several times, and what we getting is just template reply that said the site is not penalized.
*note that we didn't perform SEO for over a year, and the the sites is affected as well.

A Google Update Is Happening (Google: Nothing To Announce Now)

Quote:
...huge uptick in chatter around major ranking and search result fluctuation over the night. It seems from this and from all the complaints in the Google Webmaster Help forums that there is indeed some sort of update going on.

Is it Penguin, Panda, EMD, page layout or something else - or is it a wide-spread manual action or Google going after and devaluing a major link network - I do not know. But it does seem something has happened causing tons of webmasters and SEOs to take to the forums to complain.

This is fairly common days after I see an update brewing as I reported on Tuesday. It does seem like something is indeed rolling out and hopefully you guys benefited from it...

Past 10-15 days many SEO webmaster has been seen the fluctuation in keywords position but Google does not define any particular reason behind it. The last PR has been update on Feb-2013 and if Google follow the same rule the new PR will be update in this month May 2013 but yet no changes has been seen on Google PR.

This basically happens all the time, especially under competitive search queries. But yes, I noticed ranking fluctuations as well. I am not sure though if it is due to an aggressive competition or just Google tweaking things from behind the scene.

Not till now. I am just waiting for the Google PR update from the start of the month and till now there are no clues. According to last Google PR update next PR update was scheduled for the first 10 days of May.

The updating of Toolbar PR has never been on a regularly scheduled basis.

I havent noticed any PR change, don't think it reached me sites already, as I have over 10 of them and none of them changed.

An update to Toolbar PR is not a rolling one, but one that is done en masse. If and when one is done, all pages that were indexed at the time that the data were extracted for the PR calculation matrix are affected simultaneously.

Penguin 4, With Penguin 2.0 Generation Spam-Fighting, Is Now Live

Quote:
The fourth release of Google’s spam-fighting “Penguin Update” is now live. But Penguin 4 has a twist. It contains Penguin 2.0 technology under-the-hood, which Google says is a new generation of tech that should better stop spam.

Matt Cutts, Google’s head of search spam, announced during This Week in Google, Episode #199, the new Penguin 2.0 update. Matt referenced the video of him talking about the next generation Penguin update. Matt said this is being rolled out “within the next few hours.”

Webmasters and SEOs, expect major changes to the search results. Matt specifically said, 2.3% of english queries will be impacted by this update.

We'll have to wait until they get close enough to make a positive ID; they might be nuns.

I wonder if I should bother checking my rankings. I'm not rich so I can't buy my way to the top.

Penguin 2.0 rolled out today

Quote:
...About 2.3% of English-US queries are affected to the degree that a regular user might notice. The change has also finished rolling out for other languages world-wide. The scope of Penguin varies by language, e.g. languages with more webspam will see more impact...
