Added Forum Topics?
Is everybody cool with the forum list? I know there was talk of a forum for newbies. Is that something everybody wants? Any other forum topic suggestions?

Really? Are you telling the truth?
Anybody else got an opinion on forum topics?

Dunno about a newbies forum. It could get filled with questions that belong in other forums, such as, "I'm a newbie, how can I increase my pagerank?".
I think there may be a need for another forum but I can't think what it would be called. Yesterday, I posted a message about a copywriting tutorial in the wrong place for it because there isn't a forum that suits it. A "Other Website Stuff" sort of forum would have suited it. But then, maybe that type of post would be quite rare.
I don't suppose you want to get into usability, do you? It's an important aspect of website design and isn't covered by any of the current forums.

We also have a web design lobby, which might be appropriate for newbies to ask questions...

that's a negative on the usability forum (meaning i say no)....but the New To Web Design forum is a win-win situation ya know...
The current web design lobby is really for people with at least medium to high knowledge in web design....the newbie forum would be for those that don't even have medium ya know...I've seen a couple of newbie questions already...and I can tell you that some people don't post their questions for fear of sounding to newbie'ish...haha made that word just now lol
anyway...that's my pennies on it.

I say no on the usability forum. I think it will just create even more confusion when people are deciding where their topic should go.

I got one.
Why not have a locked forum that you can call the Spam BIN or something.
The concept is when people come in here to spam their products and its an obivous spam vs a true offer that they go into the Spam hall of shame so to speak.
Its like walking into a resturant and seeing all teh bad checks plastered behind the cashier.

We have that. It's hidden from public view.

I'm not a usability expert but I do know that it's an important aspect of web design, like copywriting, and a forum that covers web design as a whole should include usability, otherwise there's an important chunk of web design not being catered for. The problem is that it would require one or two usability experts around.
I don't see a problem in people deciding where posts should go, though, because administrators are able to relocate misplaced posts. That's what administrators are for, isn't it

The bigger point is that we don't have any usability people, do we?

Maybe we should add a usability forum and see how it goes?

How about designating the Web Design Lobby as the place to discuss usability?
