Thumbs down SketchUp... from Google?
I guess I've just been living on Mars for too long but I had no idea SketchUp was a Google "product" so I thought about sharing it to see if I was alone in the world to NOT know this -or- if you're all as surprised as I am!

By the way, with a slogan like "3D for everyone", it's bound to sound interesting for most people

I have used SketchUp. They are offering a Pro version as well. The basic version seems their way to sell their Pro version. I found it few weeks ago when I was searching for their other Betas.

Have you tried Google Romance, Base, etc?

I haven't used it but they make it not too far from where I'm sitting at the moment. Maybe about 5 minutes from here at most I hadn't realized that till I heard Google bought the company. Then again I hadn't heard of the company till Google bought them.

Shortly after the sale there were Google ads on Craig's List looking to hire quite a few people. I thought of applying, but they were always looking for someone with different skills than myself.

I think I downloded it while back and if I'm not mistaken one of the biggest selling points of sketchup is how well it integrates with Google Maps. Or somehting like that. I remember when Google first bought the company the speculation was the 3D would be used in combination with Google Maps somehow.

Thanks for your answers, people!

Out of sheer curiosity, I've taken the quick tour of Google Romance (yes, people, I'm amazed this even existed) and I'll tell you, this is way beyond any other dating site in terms of "ongoing interaction".

If that's the future of advertising, it's clear the intent is to send very precisely the ad the user needs, when the situation calls for it.

With this in mind, I'm already happily married and I won't be using the service
