What happened to Jazz music. Controversial, can you take it?

The birth of music, style creation. Why have we let it die? Why have we moved from passion to slip slop, sorry hip hop.

Why is the commercial market tell in the inteligent people of the world to buy music made by idiots and song by children for a 13 year old market?????

Has the world gone made?

I can't say that I've looked at new jazz styles, but I'm quite the fan of older blues and jazz myself.

That said, I'm quite the fan of many genres, hip hop included.

The majority of people will only be interested in what's popular though, no matter how well constructed another type of music may be. It's a shame, but it's not gonna change anytime soon.

Its not dead. It is just not widely recognized.
Jazz is still found in many, many cities.

But as pie has said. Times change. And our culture accepts the music we listen to.

And the world has not gone made. It has gone mad.

You need to change your poll. All consumers don't listen to "hipslop".

What do you listen to? Nothing but Jazz? That's your preference. Your a consumer.

Jazz is still very much alive!
Just because you don't hear it on the radio doesn't mean it's not alive!
Students can attend even Berklee (and I'm sure other colleges) for Jazz Composition!
IMO, Jazz is still very much alive, and will never die. It will just evolve, just like any other musical genre. It's not as mainstream today as it was in the 50's, but it is still enjoyed by many.
