Do you have a speculation about when Google will update?
  • Do you think there has been a backlinks update?
  • Do you think there has been a PR update?
  • Are you seeing Google fluctuations?
  • Do you think there has been an algorithm update?

You may want to start with a basic understanding about Google updates before posting in this thread.

Small Google Update? Some Reports But Not Strong Enough.

Has anyone noticed this?
Quote:
I have been hearing some confident messages from the webmaster community that there was a Google update (some saying Panda) over the past 24 hours.

Official: Google Mobile Friendly Algorithm Fully Rolled Out But...

The Google Mobile Friendly algorithm has been fully deployed but it might take some time for you to see any changes:
Quote:
...Google's mobile friendly algorithm is fully rolled out according to Gary Illyes of Google.

Gary responded to my question if it was fully rolled out on Twitter this morning saying "the algo is rolled out." But he added why some people may not be seeing the full impact. Gary said "but not all pages were reindexed yet so they don't have the new scores." He also added, "there were a load of sites that became MF recently, so the actual number of sites affected decreased considerably..."

Update Over the Weekend - NOT!

If you have seen some buzz around that there was an update over the past weekend, Barry Schwartz has confirmed with Google there was no update:

Google told me that no update happened over the weekend.

This update has some positive factors!

After all why they updated this algorithm?

To help we the developers not to be pushed too much for each and every element to be mobile responsive when there are a few clients who insist us each and everything should be shown on the mobile, even sliders And, this should be understood very clearly that on mobile, the user has completely different experience than on PCs. So, we are not supposed to show everything strictly on mobile, instead should focus on the important elements which do not let users bounce back. Anyways, this has been a very good thing and I would suggest my clients to get their sites Google mobile friendly.

Google Slaps Mass Manual Actions For Thin Content Over Weekend

Anyone get hit with this thin content slap or know someone that did?
Quote:
It has been a while since we reported on any wide spread, mass scale, Google manual actions but it seems like over the weekend, Google has issued mass manual actions over "Thin content with little or no added value."

It seems Google went after a content network and located many of the sites participating in this network and then slapping them with thin content manual actions...

Yes, There Was A Google Update Early This Month.

You were not imaging things if you noticed a Google update earlier this month:
Quote:
...Google told us this was not an update for web spam, but a normal Google core search quality update...

Google Local Search Results Update

Anyone notice this update of local search and Google maps?
Quote:
The local SEOs are buzzing big time right now. It seems like over the past few days, Google has done a major algorithmic change that has shifted how the local results rank in both Google Maps and the local packs in web search.

It is believed that the Google Maps Googlebomb fix led to this and I actually said then "expect the traffic change some for many local businesses in the near future."

I also saw a post about local directories getting hit in the last week or so.
