Hi there and welcome to v7n.
Now, did you design your own website? Because if you know some html basics, adding google adsense to your website is super easy. You simply insert the code where you want it. I really recommend setting up an account and just doing some basic reading and ask questions here. It will benefit you in the long run!!!

When one becomes Google AdWords Qualified, one receives a custom link to Google that gives the individual or company name and verifies their certification. Ideally, they link to this using the proper logo on their website.
An example of this can be found on the Apogee Search homepage (see the "Search Engine Marketing" link in my signature file).

I agree. Unless you're ready to spend at least $2,000/month on paid search advertising (and can see yourself spending more), it makes more sense to do it yourself.

Google Adwords Professional (GAP) is a program for anyone wishing to manage multiple Adwords accounts. I've written about it here:
http://www.larrylim.net/singapore-go...s-reseller.htm
While I'm not a GAP, I'm someone who thinks and acts "beyond the norm" - experiences from running my own network of websites, which serves over 4 million pages a month. You'll be hard-pressed to find an SEO consultant or GAP with that same experience.
Although, I'm not certified by any professional SEO association, I'm ranked top 10 on Google for practically every Singapore-related SEO, SEM, Google Adwords and Internet Marketing search terms, e.g. singapore seo.
If you have 5 minutes, download the slides here for a basic on search engines:
http://www.larrylim.net/singapore-se...timization.htm
Cheers.

I prefer to do it myself. It's not that hard and I like to control my own ads.

Adwords is easy if you don't mind how much you pay, how your ads rank or how your conversion rates are. Your choice of keywords to the ads to the campaign settings and the landing pages will affect its effectiveness.
There are some things that even a GAP is not aware of like the fact that Adwords keeps a history of your CTR.
Most companies don't have the time nor knowledge to handle their Adwords campaign. So a consultant is roped in to help them setup and optimize, and report on the ad's performance.

Im an Adwords Qualified Professional. To be perfectly honest as someone mentioned earlier unless you have a large budget or more important things to do you dont need someone like me to manage the account for you, the help docs in Adwords tell you everything you need to know and the best way to learn is to jump in the deep end.
There is a new Adwords system also and a new Adwords Qualification so make sure if you are going down that route that you check that out first as well.
