Do you have a speculation about when Google will update?
  • Do you think there has been a backlinks update?
  • Do you think there has been a PR update?
  • Are you seeing Google fluctuations?
  • Do you think there has been an algorithm update?

Something Going On?

The last couple of days I noticed some favourite sites I Google day in and day out have dropped from spots 1 or 2 down to 4 or 5.

Has anyone else noticed anything?

According to this post on Search Engine Roundtable, it is not a Panda update.

I have a few sites that went through some shake-up in the past couple of days, but it is too early to judge what it is (ie Panda or anything else)

Recently google said that he is going to update his one of the greatest algorithm "Panda". So is possible almost 70% that the website fluctuation is occurs due to that content algorithm update.........

The Panda update is delayed according to this post on Search Engine Roundtable: Google: Panda Still Coming Soon But Maybe Delayed For Technical Reasons

And it isn't a Penguin update according to this post: Google: Penguin Refresh Is Months Away

I did notice that one of the sites I usually Google (as mentioned above) is back in spot #2 or 3 today.

No, Google Did Not Refresh Panda Yesterday

From Barry Schwartz - Search Engine Roundtable
Quote:
Google told me on the record, there was no Panda refresh thus far. They implied is still coming soon but said for sure, it has not refreshed this week - yet.

They would not tell me when it will be refreshed, nor would they comment on if it is tool late to fix your site for this Panda refresh, but they have been saying it is coming soon.

Was That A Google Phantom Update Last Week?

Hmm, something happened. One of the sites I mentioned in my reply above has moved back down to spot 5 or 6 again.
Quote:
Glenn Gabe thinks this was a Phantom Tremor. What is Phantom? It is what Glenn named the Jun 16th Google update that Google originally denied and then later confirmed as a core search update.

Glenn says his data suggests there was a tweak to that algorithm in core search, which is why Google didn't confirm it and which is why not many people noticed.

Yes google panda 4.2 is rolling in this weekend, many of you may not have noticed because this rollout is happening incredibly slowly. In fact, Google says the update can take months to fully roll out.

Today Google announced Google+ will no longer be a requirement to access Google services, marking another chapter in the storied history of the ill-fated social network.

In the announcement Google admitted it may have made a mistake in making Google+ mandatory for all users:

Google+ according to was never a social network platform. I think the user engagement on that site is very low but I must say that I have also seem some really good results of Google+ pages ranking on serps.
