Yo, Spear ... I can tell you from experience that being number one in Google for a reasonably popular key word or phrase makes a big difference ...

I've had affiliate mini sites ranked #1 that garnered 3 times as many sales as when they where in the number 2 position ... and below.

Many folks figure that if you're number 1 ... you must be the logical, primary choice.

LOL. Don't tell anybody, but I think I'm obsessed with links.

And, there's no way I'm telling my search terms. I got a few that I really like, and it seems nobody has taken notice of. If I mentioned them, I'd have to actually compete for the rankings.
