I might have to close down my very first website, REFreak. It got me into web design and improved my gfx skills. It'll close because of hosting problems. Not too long ago I mentioned that White-Umbrella had a Hard Disk Crash.

My site was completely lost, fortunately I'm not an idiot and I kept all the files on my computer aswell on the net. Well I planned on putting it back on when they returned. When they came back, they had deleted all of their hosted site's accounts so they could start over.

I reapplied, and have reapplied without any response. I have checked the site and I'm pretty sure it's pretty dead at the moment. So I decided to go Gamespy, I don't have the money to pay for the amount of bandwidth I require. Which Gamespy has it, I applied for hosting...well they are already hosting 2 other RE sites. So I got rejected and I can't find a good host...REFreak is going to die and I can't do ne thing about it

me? hmm roughly 30 a month, when it was getting 100 unique visitors a day. But I'll be adding alot of new media so I'm estimating over 60. I found agood host but chances of me being able to pay for it are really low...

That's not a lot of b/w. There are several places that offer free hosting.

My visitors don't deserve that...hmm I'm kinda tired...and a little depressed I'm heading to bed...I'll post on this later.

Well it means pretty much the same to me.

Free hosting = popup/popunder ads and banners

Do you know a place where free hosting is offered without those kind of ads? If yes, where is the catch? There must be one, I can't see how they would offer free hosting without advertising.

yeah what's the payoff if you do it for free with no pop-ups...i mean i know there are footer links to quality web on the sites and stuff but without pay...where's the reward?

Why do I do it? Two reasons:

1. Friendship. People on the forum are like good friends to me.

2. Footer links. Most of the sites have no PageRank or traffic, but it does lend to the credibility of QWH. I mean, do a search for link:http://www.quality-web-hosting.net/ and you get 2,000 results. It helps to prove that we are a reliable host.
