anyone noticed google is slow?

I am in the UK, and have noticed google seems slower (have tried a couple of different adsl connections and same 'clunkiness') than it should be.

General searches dont seem to be affected but the google tools, sitemaps, analytics etc are just slower today. We haven't been able to log into adsnese properly for a couple of hours.

Is anyone else seeing a slowdown or is it just my end of london sw6?
(talk about a global question)

Yes I have noticed this. There were times yesterday when I couldn't even pull it up at all.

Somehting big maybe?
A new index?
a new seo tool?
a new donkey or hamster maybe?
These guys are tough to get a handle on.....

Could just be coincidence. You know the magic trick on TV where a trickster tries to start broken watches… sure a tiny percentage of watches would indeed start (possible due to temperature changes) and those people would phone up the show saying the trick worked.

Yea, I couldn't get the "reports" part of adsense to load up this morning, although I could get into any other part of adsense. Weird. Seems to be working fine though.

Since a while back Google's performance has decreased a lot, whether the extension you use, or the service itself, starting from the plain Google's search page to gmail taking ages to load :/

I experienced it only in google analytics. after that google started showing, our servers are under maintanence. maybe they are doing some migration for new year.

thats what I thought it might, I wasn't worried about the speed of which it was returning results, more hinting at if the system was slowing down it may mean an upgrade to software/hardware/algorithm?

haven't noticed any slowness other then in the analytics, but that is understandable with the take up and amount of data crunching that goes in to render one of the reports
