Do you have a speculation about when Google will update?
  • Do you think there has been a backlinks update?
  • Do you think there has been a PR update?
  • Are you seeing Google fluctuations?
  • Do you think there has been an algorithm update?

You may want to start with a basic understanding about Google updates before posting in this thread.

Google Search Algorithm Update Over Weekend ?

Anyone notice any changes? One of my sites had a bit higher visits over the weekend.

There are some early signs of a Google search algorithm update over the weekend, around Saturday and Sunday. The chatter is still very quiet but it was the weekend and that might kick up over the next day or so. Plus, pretty much all the tools are on fire, showing huge volatility around July 9th.

Big algorythm updates over the weekend?

Anyone else notice a lot of SERP changes over this weekend? (Fri 14-7-2017 - Mon 17-7-2017).

For the site I am monitoring closely, Monday mornings are usually a bad time. Since our site is commercial, mostly B2B, this makes sense, low traffic over the weekend pushes us down a little. I usually expect a few terms to rank a little less on Mondays.

This Monday however is quite different. Most terms have changed position significantly, mostly for the better. Results this morning are MUCH better!

Anyone else observed a lot changing? It seems to me that Google have implemented some sort of update, very little else has changed that could explain this. Guess I am doing something right, but wish I knew what!

Sandgroper,
We keep all update news to the current Google Update thread for the month. As noted here: Do NOT Start Google Update Threads!

If you had read the current update thread (where your post was moved to) there was an update noted Jul 10/17. Maybe it took all week for your analytics to convey this information?

Nope.

What I am looking at here is the postion our site is returned in for 10 keywords, covering a diverse range of relevent search terms. Not traffic. On Friday, we were averaging twentieth position, this morning eleventh. All but one term moved up, in a few cases dramatically. Biggest was position 45 to position3.

Usually changes are MUCH slower than this, and we usally loose ground on weekends.
