I know in WordPress one plugin is there ShortPixel Image Optimizer. It will compress upto 100 images per month for free. For more you need to pay.
Beside this, there are many free Tools like, JPEG Optimizer, Kraken, etc.

There are lot of tools available into internet to compress images. If you know little bit about photoshop then you can get your image compressed there. Otherwise I am using pixlr.com.editor - an online tool or we can say that it is a mini Photoshop also.

You have to choose in which tool you can compress images easily and as per your user experience, use whatever you like. Every online tools compress images.

If your site is on Wordpress, you can get plugins to compress your images like the SMUSH Image Compressor.
I think another thing you could do is open your image in any photo editing website online and save it in a poorer image quality. This will affect the quality but if you aren't enlarging your image on your page or if the photo size is going to be small, it won't matter much.

Just install LAZY LOAD from Wordpress directory and it will do its work. It is a front-end development trick which delays the loading of content below the fold of a page until just before a user scrolls to it.

If you are using WordPress, I'll recommend Imagify Image Optimizer.

Alternatively, you may compress your images using FastStone Photo Resizer before you upload to your server.

If you are on a shared hosting and you are using wordpress then i will highly recommend you to move all your images to cloud servers this way you can instantly speed up your website.

If you are using wordpress then use plugin for Google drive and Imgur and upload your images directly from your wordpress media upload area to your Google Drive or Imgur account and the Images will served from there server which will instantly speed up your website as wordpress itself is a very heavy application to run and after that if you upload your images in your server then its obvious that your website is going to slow down specially if you are on a shared hosting server.

I hope it helps
