Numerous Strategies

The ranking with Google can come from so many areas. I recommend the following list when thinking about ranking signals.

1. On-page SEO
2. Business Directory Listings
3. Online Reviews
4. Schema Tags
5. Backlinks
6. Social Media

There is a post I just read by mjtaylor dated 5/23/2016 that answers your question in its entirety. I had the same question but I had the opportunity to read this post I just mentioned. I believe it will help you get what your looking for--higher page rank in Google.

The post is entitled Page Rank: What It Is, What It Isn’t and How To Get Some and it it at the top of the Google forum page with the highlighted red word "sticky" next to it. I am fairly new to SEO so it opened my eyes. However, someone who is more seasoned in SEO might think the post is passe. Thanks for the reply, LMD

Ok, that post was referring to PageRank and what it is, how Google uses it and how to get some. However, today, we don't know what a given page's PR is any longer. So, the hunt for PageRank has been lifted for those chasing DA and PA - which, in reality, are just Moz metrics and not part of any SE algo that I am aware of.

While MJ's post is a great one (and I really like going back to review some of the more prolific posters of the past like MJ and Deepsand, just to mention two), I don't think it breaks down the algo or the calculation. Although DS was quite happy to bring out the PR formula and teas us with it's simple (to him), but complicated (to us) calculation.

And while PR and that post itself is important to try and understand, it's one of those things that's really not critical to us on the outside of Google, because we can't see it any longer.

Good post though for sure.

The websites that Google ranks on the 1st page of of its search results for any given search term are the ones that they consider to be the most.

Google Ranking factors work based on your website. Not all the ranking factors are used by Google to rank the website. For example, if your website has some quality content and backlinks then they don't bother about the web page loading time. And no one exactly doesn't know how Google Algo works except very few specialist in Google.

And how is it you have come to know that Google sees web page loading time as no ranking value??

That is something I've repeated here a dozen or more times.

I agree completely. Just answered a different thread about backlinks talking about the same point. If you have good content then links will automatically flow and so would the rank improvement.
so, I also believe that backlinks are one of the most important ranking signals besides Rankbrain and CTR.
