November Google Algorithm Search Results Update?
Seen any changes in your traffic from organic search results?
Quote:
...signs both within the search community and from the automated tracking tools of an update with Google's search results going on right now. The interesting thing is about 50% of the tools are reporting on the algorithm update and the other are not. Maybe Google is doing a 50/50 test on a new algorithm?...

Why not start a new thread and reference HTML's post from here for further discussions?

My keys have recovered with one or two keys up or down one position. I guess they're all back to where they were prior to the last update

now google give you result based on location, earlier it used to provide the result on the most visited website.
The is due to because out of 5 searches one is location base search

Google has been doing this for years.

Ah, er what?? Did you make this up? If not, show a reputable source to validate your statement.

"What is an update? Google updates its index data, including backlinks and PageRank, continually and continuously." is a quote from the article written by Matt Cutts: Gadgets, Google and SEO" Posted September 8, 2005 in Google/SEO. However, the author of the article(Mr. Cutts) also writes "So new backlinks/PageRank are fun to see, but it’s not an update; it’s just already-factored-in data being exported visibly for the first time in a while." I believe from what I read in this article that Google does updates all the time, but we are just observing the results of the updated info that has already been factored in months prior. As far as the Google algorithm update, the article entitled "November Google Algorithm Search Results Update?" by Barry Schwartz in Search Engine Roundtable on Nov 3, 2017 eludes to the fact that there is an update regarding the Google algorithm going on right now. Fluctuations for me right now are positive--last year I was at 18.1--now I'm at 9.3

Mid-November Google Algorithm Search Ranking Update
Looking at my stats for one site it had a major uptick of visits on the 15th and back to normal today. What about you?
Quote:
...chatter has built up over the past 24 hours and the monitoring tools, most of them, have spiked as well. It looks like a more significant Google search ranking algorithm update was pushed out over the past 36 hours. It is hard to say exactly what happened but this is not at the levels of a major Penguin or Panda update but it is more significant than the daily Google updates does throughout the day...

I read the link that you were so kind to provide and at first there was no problem, HTMLBasicTutor--My site maintained its 4th slot in Google. Over the last couple of days, however, My site has dropped twice--1st to the 5th slot then to the 11th. I almost had a heart attack. Now I'm back to my usual 4th slot again and maybe with the new update I'll go higher. I have had more traffic to my site but nothing significant. It will be fun to see what happens on Google's new roller coaster ride. Thank you for responding to my post.

Google Featured Snippets Change Up In Past 30 Days
Any of you notice this?
Quote:
Pete Meyers from Moz was tweeting yesterday about how the featured snippets at the end of October have significantly changed. He said "it looks like a lot of the SERPs that lost Featured Snippets around the end of October gained general Knowledge Panels." ...

Yes, HTMLBasicTutor I noticed and read the article entitled "There Was Google Featured Snippets Change Up In Past 30 Days" and I found it to be interesting. However, I don't understand the correlation between replacing featured snippets with the knowledge graph. Could it be that Google is putting even more emphasis on quality content and enough quality content could affect and reflect a change on knowledge graph? I think I might have missed something here so please don't shoot the messenger. If anyone would like to expound on this article, I am all ears.

This might help you understand better what is going on max_brainer (or anyone else):

...Something happened at the end of October
We recently noticed that some of the answer boxes we worked really hard to get were just gone. No notice, no goodbye...
... The interesting thing is that we are seeing an uptick in knowledge panels. Historically, the main knowledge panels in search results were about companies, people and other entities. But now we are seeing generic knowledge panels popping up for all types of queries in ways we hadn’t seen before....

I read the article and it clarified what I felt I was missing which was what a knowledge panel/graph is and its connection to featured snippets. I find it fascinating that Google is so forward thinking. Thank you for your response, HTMLBasic Tutor
