Are you referring to JavaScript redirects? If so, from your browser, Tools> Internet Options> Security Tab> and put some of those on Prompt.

Have tried changing a few to prompt, but I still get the same problem. What happens is I enter in a url that does not work. Instead of loading an error page, I am redirected to another web page, without doing anything.

Appreciate the help.

why?

Unless you are planning to hack IE and then make a virus out of it i see no use for such an unusable feature.

It is to make certain people in the business happy. They believe that they have got a virus if the web page is directing them elsewhere without them doing anything. This is why.

It sounds like you're trying to work around a server-side redierct - through a browser. If that's so, then you are really going to have to try another method.

i also have this problem

if a bad url is entered then how can it be an issue server side since there is no server to connect to

e.g if i enter http://somesillydomainthatdoesn'texist.com then instead of getting the stock standard internet explorer DNS lookup error the browser redirects to some companies site which syas your page couldn't be loaded but check out this site.

only thing i can think of to fix it is to reinstall ie, but that doesn't seem to be a straightforward process
